Meet Danika van Wyngaardt: A Young Champion of Recycling

 Vicky Porter   2024-07-23  Comments

At The Waste Trade Company, we believe that every small effort in recycling can make a significant impact on our environment. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to an inspiring young recycler, Danika van Wyngaardt, a Grade 5 student at Kabega Park Primary School, who has been recognized as the Recycler of the Year.

Interview with Danika van Wyngaardt:

Emmy: Hi Danika, congratulations on your award! Could you please tell us your full name and what grade you are in?

Danika: Thank you! My name is Danika van Wyngaardt, and I am in Grade 5.

Emmy: At what age did you start recycling?

Danika: I started recycling when I was 7 years old.

Emmy: Why do you recycle?

Danika: I recycle to save the animals in the ocean and to protect the world. It's important to me that we take care of our planet and all the creatures that live here.

Emmy: What kind of items do you collect for recycling?

Danika: I collect glass, bread tags, and bottle caps for recycling.

Emmy: What would you say to people who are not recycling?

Danika: You are never too young or too old to start recycling. Picking up glass lying around can save many animals and prevent bushfires, which also saves animals.

Emmy: How did you feel when the teacher announced your name as the top recycler out of the entire school?

Danika: I felt really proud and happy. It was amazing to be recognized for something I care about so much.

Danika's dedication to recycling and her passion for protecting the environment are truly inspiring. Her efforts show that age is no barrier to making a positive difference. By starting at a young age, Danika has set a remarkable example for her peers and the community.

At The Waste Trade Company, we encourage everyone to follow Danika's lead. Whether you are young or old, every action counts. Recycling not only helps in conserving resources but also plays a crucial role in protecting wildlife and preventing environmental hazards.

Let's all take a moment to reflect on how we can contribute to a cleaner, greener planet. Remember, it's never too late to start recycling!

Join us in celebrating Danika's achievements and share your recycling stories with us!
